I have been using the LCS Tip-Up Bird Releaser through the fall of 08 when working with my lab steady to flush. Also, I have used it with friends who are introducing their young flushing dogs to birds in the field as well.
The Tip-Up Bird Releaser works very well and is a helpful training tool. It is easy to carry into the field, allows scent to naturally flow downwind from the bird, and helps to control the flush to when you want the bird to fly - an essential component of sit to flush training. The Releaser will hold up to a small hen pheasant without escaping, and by simply stepping on the release bar the bird is released to flush. It is a very simple device and no moving parts to break or malfunction. I highly recommend it from personal use.
