Working and hunting dogs are on their feet running on different terrains, surfaces, ice and snow. This will cause eventual wear down, tear, and damage the dogs’ paws. Musher’s Secret is a dense barrier wax that forms a breathable bond with your dogs’ paws. Used in Canada for use on sled dogs, this product is the best when it comes to protecting your dog’s paws from winter weather.
Musher’s Secret is the safe, non-toxic way to protect your dogs’ paws. The natural formulation is made from a blend of several food-grade waxes with the added benefits of Vitamin E. Musher’s Secret also soothes, conditions, and relieves dry and cracked pads from running on hot, dry, or rocky surfaces.

Applying Mushers Secret:
For year-round use: Apply 2-3 times per week. During heavy running or use during winter, daily or even multiple applications may be necessary. To apply, rub a thin layer onto the paw and rub it in. During icy times, make sure to apply Musher’s Secret between the toes and webbing to prevent snowballing (ice build-up). If applied correctly, it will absorb into the paws within a few minutes. Once absorbed, there is no risk of it coming off onto the floor, clothing, or carpet. If it does come off, you have applied too much.
Used to Protect Against:
Staff Quote from the late Andy Purnell:
“After years of not being able to run dogs day after day in winter because of pad damage, I have finally found a product that keeps my hounds comfortable when running in snow and ice. The Musher's Secret keeps my dogs pads supple and helps prevent cracking and drying out when running on ice and snow. It also keeps the snow from balling up and freezing between the dogs’ toes.
I have been able to get a lot more time out of my dogs, since they do not have to be laid up healing when our season is in.”
